Richard A. Villa, Ed.D. has worked with thousands of teachers and administrators throughout North America and abroad to help create organizational and instructional support systems for educating all students within general education settings. Rich has been a middle and high school classroom teacher, special education coordinator, pupil personal services director, and director of instructional services. Rich works with schools, governmental and non-governmental agencies, and advocacy organizations. He has authored over one hundred articles and book chapters regarding inclusive education, differentiated instruction, collaborative planning and teaching, and school restructuring. Dr. Villa has also co-edited seven books for teachers, administrators, and parents (including A Guide to Co-Teaching: Practical Tips for Facilitating Student Learning; Creating an Inclusive School;Creativity and Collaborative Learning: A Practical Guide for Empowering Students, Teachers, and Family; and Restructuring for Caring and Effective Education: Piecing the Puzzle Together). Rich possesses the conceptual, technical, and interpersonal skills required to work effectively with others and facilitate change and progress in education. He has presented at numerous national and international conferences and is known for his enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and humorous style of presentation.
